Risk Assessments

The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 places responsibilities on employers (including self-employed and not-for-profit organisations) to ensure risk assessments are carried out by a competent person.  Qualitek Safety can act as your competent person and carry out risk assessments for your business/charity and identify cost effective control measures.

We also carry out audits, gap analysis and accident investigations and cover most Regulations but are specialists in the following areas:

Control of Substance Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Risk Assessments - where a large number of hazardous materials are handled we can carry out hazard or control banding to reduce the number of risk assessments, making it easier for training of staff. We can also assist in Design of LEV systems, personal exposure measurement, identification of appropriate technical controls and PPE as well as Face Fit Testing of RPE and COSHH training.

DSEAR Risk Assessments - The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) require employers to control the risks from fire and explosions. Qualitek Safety can assist you in carrying out risk assessments for Explosive Atmospheres due to:-

  • explosive dusts e.g. grain, flour or polymer dust
  • flammable liquids/vapour e.g. spray painting
  • flammable gasses e.g. LPG

Where necessary, as part of preparing the DSEAR risk assessment we can also carry out Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP's) and training of staff.

Fire Risk Assessments - We can also offer Fire risk assessments, installations & testing of emergency lights, installation of signage and identifications of appropriate fire fighting equipment.

Noise Survey/ Risk Assessment - Qualitek Safety offers a complete noise solution including noise survey, risk assessment, identification of technical controls and appropriate hearing protection as well as training and audiology.

Vibration Measurement/Risk assessment – whether it is measurement of vibration or risk assessment, we can help.
